I might work a bit harder for a few more years.

So you can afford to make it look less awful?
I just hope they keep a traditional, cheaper MANUAL, vette on the line up, but with them calling this a C8 that seems more like a replacer than an addition.

Sell your C7 at top dollar to a Boomer looking for the last “real Corvette” to keep in his garage to "appreciate in value" and you should be able to get some decent cash from that

Im not in love with the rear, but I won't have to be the one who has to look at it

Despite being near millenial but firmly in the gen x camp I’m more boomer than anyone I know from that age range. I’ve got too many miles on mine - up to almost 25k now, so that won’t happen unlsss I literally stop driving it today.
I don't really need to sell it, so I might keep it for a few years and see how things go

Sure is. I like my third pedal too, way more than I like paying over MSRP for things that are new

I was legitimately thinking about getting an M2C or Supra in a few years, but this changes things.

Seeing it in “the flesh” and hearing what it can do, I’m 110% sold if GM is telling the truth. This is insane and the wait was worth it.

It’s crazy. They’ve really done a great job of positioning this to steal from a lot of other product lines (M2C/M4 , Supra, Cayman, GT-R, NSX, Evora...). Mid-engine really does change the game as far as drawing others in that would never consider a Corvette before.

Hot take - your car looks better.
- someone who thinks the C7 is very striking but not beautiful

Hmm you know striking is an excellent term for it.

It never fails to catch my eye on the road. And they have a hell of a presence, especially with the Z07 aero package.
But it’s pretty busy, and could be considered over-styled...
especially when compared to something like this:

From a few bad angles the F-Type’s rear can be a little lumpy looking. Otherwise, though it’s empirically a better looking car than the C7 from most other angl e s. The C7 has shapes that sort of remind me of how the response was to the Enzo when it came out, with all its distinct lines and angles, even though the actual form is different than a Vette.
While I quite like how the Enzo looks, most people would not say it’s beautiful, often falling back to words like “striking.”

I agree - the Enzo is not beautiful.

I’m so glad it exists.
Sounds good, too:
